So here I am, the former tax widow..........I survived!!
Or should I say, WE survived. Jay was finally able to spend an evening with us last night after what seemed to be the worst tax season is history. He said that there were actually line ups at 11:50pm on April 30th at Tax Canada. Can you imagine leaving it to the last minute & being in a line up in downtown Kelowna at almost midnight.....yikes.
Good thing we got ours in at 11:55pm!! JOKE!! :-)
Anyway, we have had guests at our Bed & Breakfast this whole week. Tuesday Bev & my Mom arrived at 2;30. Their road trip is proving to be a great adventure for them and they hadn't even left BC. They made a new word for the trip....NAGAVATOR!!They think it is the funniest ever!! So anyway, as they want to head out the next day to continue with the adventure, the cars tire is making a funny noise. I call Dynamic Westside Auto (Ron Smith the owner goes to SunRidge and we always bring our vehicles there-great service) to have them check out the tire fot them. Well to make a long story short, they needed 2 new tires and a wheel alignment. I thank God that Dynamic Westside Auto was able to fix that for them because who knows where they would have had to go or if they would have had a blow out...don't want to think about that stuff. So needless to say, we got the car back by 5 and Bev was so happy for the wonderful care and service!! So was I!! Thank you Jon at Dynamic!!
When they left, I packed up the kids and headed to the airport to pick up the next guests and my B&B. It poured rain all the way, like monsoon rain!! I thought we were living at the tip of the desert, I had never seen rain like this in Kelowna.
The flight was on time and we were so happy to see Mom F and Vicki. We are having a fun time together. I will keep you posted.
Jay & I are leaving for a night away at the Hotel Eldorado tonight. Should be nice. I can't wait to just sit and do nothing...well....sort of. OBAT!!!
Love, Mel
ps....my next post.........never let your kids have Gatorade at 7 at night.........holy moly

Hi Mel, Well, Thema & Louise made it home at 10:00 last night. Ask us about the Kootenay Pass sometime. (Rain, snow, fog, and no railings!!!!!!!) Bev kept it together and I prayed - she said I was praying out loud. The "Nagivator" was very busy and so was our "Navigator - God". He must have been chuckling because He knew we would make it through. After that we stopped and bought our husbands each a case of "Kootenay" beer for a "souvenir". Your Bed & Breakfast was awesome and it was great to get a chance to see you and the kids again. Have they ever grown since February. And those "giggles" from Sarah were priceless. I'm so glad it was Auntie Bev that gave the "Slurppy Brothers" that Gatoraide and not me. Ha! Ha! Hope you and Jay had a good time on your retreat! Have a great time with Sue & Vicki. Love Mom
