This is a title that I had started a while back. It happened to unexpectedly and you can never prepare for it. Aiden's grade 2 teacher passed away. She didn't show up for work one day and the kids and teachers were all confused. What responsible adult doesnt' show up to work and not call??? So when the day was almost done we got the call from the crisis team at the school letting us know that there was a tragedy and Aiden's teacher passed away suddenly in her home.
Kids are so resilient to things at such a young age. When we told Aiden about his teacher he didnt' know what to say but laugh and tell us "well, she'll probably be back next week".....no AIden, she won't "she died"....oh, "OK". And off he went like nothing happened. We have never had to deal with a death in our kids lives at all (only one puppy death, which is HORRIBLE by the way).
This will be remembered though, even though he may not talk about it. It will be the "year my teacher died".....so sad. I still cry about it.
