It was a beautiful sunny afternoon in the Okanagan so I decided to take all of the kids plus my day care girl to Summerland water park/beach for the day. I was quickly reminded of the conscuction that is on Hwy 97 between Peachland and Summerland as we were at a stand still for almost 20 minutes. SO I have 4 excited kids in the van waiting to get to Summerland. It wasn't too bad waiting for 20 minutes but I am sure there were some people that had been there for over an hour. They were closing the highway due to rock blasting for the future twinning of hwy 97.
Anyway, we have a blast at the water park, beach and playground. It is one of the most perfect places to go with kids because it has everything to keep the kids busy for hours!!
We pack up for home around 2 because we know the hwy was suppose to close for an hour around 1. I get all the kids in the van plus half of the sand from the beach and crank the A/C.
The kids then find our bag of Fritos BBQ Hoops. They all discover that they can put the hoops on their fingers like rings. Before I know it, they have special super powers on every finger...invisibility, flying, electricity, lasers, etc. So every time they eat a hoop, they lose that super power.
That my friends is the excitement that happens on Hwy 97, in my Windstar, with 4 kids and a bag of Hoops!!
ps...thank goodness they were occupied by those hoops, traffic was slow going back!!
