The 1/2 Marathon

With my New balance runners and my fuel belt put away for a month or so, I am thinking it is time to pound the pavement once again. This time a new goal.....running the 1/2 marathon in less than 2hours and 58 minutes!!

I have to blame that darn foot cramp at the 10 Km mark. It festered for the whole 1/2 marathon. I KNOW i could have done it in 2 hours and 20 minutes for sure but I had to stop every few strides and massage my aching foot. Of course, my foot decided to have a cramp THAT day. But in the end, I managed to finish with a great big smile on my face and almost 3 hours spent by myself with no one to bother me!!

I am so proud of what I did that day and will be for the rest of my life. I set my goal and I did it, nothing stopped me.

I have also realized that when I run, I feel the best! Not as many "bad/sad" days. I can go to my happy place!! Pounding the pavement, gravel and Shannon Lake road......look out, here I come again!!

Thank you to all who were my wonderful supporters, I couldn't have done it without you!

Thanks from the bottom of my heart!
