Stories from Bridge HIll

We all know it happens sooner or later and we know we all have to face it.....ICY ROADS!!!
So here is my story......I am ready to head out to the hood (Rutland) for a candle party at Kelly's. In Shannon Lake it is snowing a few flakes, not enough to alarm me. SO I start the van and crank the radio cuz no kids are with me and head over to Karleigh's. So I get to her place which is called Shannon Woods, the snow is starting to form a layer on the grass and a few ripples on the road.........no worries. I have to say, the elevation in Shannon Woods is a lot higher so I tried to blame the bad weather on that!
Ok...here we are, yaking in the van about driving in crappy weather......well....it just gets worse from here.
We're on hwy 97 by now and taking it slow and almost at the Mac's intersection............sssssssssskkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!! The car beside us is skidding. Holy, it must be slippery. I didn't do the brake test becasue the person behind me wouldn't have appreciated that...HA HA...only my mom does that in the prairies when there are no cars to be seen for MILES!! Anyway.....we spin the tires a bit and then pick up speed.
We are heading down bridge hill..........the guy in front of me hits the brakes...........so I hit my brakes.........ssssssssssssssssssskkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk whap...........ssssssssssssssssssssssskkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkwhap..............skkkkkkkkkkkkk............AAAAHHHH!!
Took out two highway temporary construction poles as I was trying to avoid sliding into the guy in front of me. So we made it to the bridge and we in shock. Then laughing.
AS we drove up bridge hill on our way home we were laughing hysterically because Karleigh peeked out the window and the poles were GONE!! Then we thought, maybe they are still under the van.............now we are rolling on the floor laughing!! I hope you enjoy this story as much as Karleigh and I did. Now I have to go tell Jay!!
