I thought it was time to update my blog. Since this thing called FACEBOOK, I seem to have completely ignored my blog. So here goes, a little up date on life in the Okanagan.
This summer came and went WAY too fast. The weather was amazing so there were many days spent at the beach. I had to put my house renovations on hold because they will always be there, and summer won't be!! My many winter projects await me!
Aiden turned 4 this summer and has been such a gentle natured sweetheart. Although he has proved to have a really nasty temper at times when his big brother Keegan is around. We have also had to really stress the "bully" thing with Aiden as well. I guess having an older sibling bullying others is just his way of thinking he now has the power over them.....I also think it is the dreaded "middle child syndrome"! Anyway, things are getting better with Aiden. He is now in preschool again and back to a routine. Routine and consistence is the best thing for my kids.
Keegan just had a birthday and is now the big "8"!! I still can't believe he is growing up so fast, that only means I am getting older too!! Ugh!! Keegan is really struggling with school at the moment. He is in a classroom that is a grade 2/3 split. He is so easy distracted and can't concentrate when there is commotion around. It is stressful on a kid when they struggle like that. He can't finish his school work and has to stay in for a lot of recesses. Please pray for Keegan, he really needs prayers right now! Thanks!
As for our little Sarah..........she is 3 kids in 1!! She is by far the busiest, dirtiest kid!! She gets into everything. This world she has discovered is the greatest thing she has ever seen!! I have to constantly be on the look out for her because she has to taste everything too (and the Lego and Meccano in the house doesn't help). She also has to check the toilet water once and a while, escape to the outside when the boys don't close the doors all the way. Yes....I AM BUSY!!! But hey....she is 16 months.
As for Jay and myself........we had a wonderful relaxing vacation in Aruba. The resort was beautiful, the weather was great (except for the hurricane-like wind and rain one day and a big beach umbrella almost took me out!) It was a nice vacation for us to leave our stress behind and focus on us. And by that I mean, Jay went golfing & I went shopping!!! Eventually we did see each other and will always have many great memories of Aruba.
Yesterday I did my Run for the Cure. It was a soggy day but it was fantastic. There were so many people there. I did the 5Km run and I amazed myself by taking maybe 4 1 minute breaks. I came in exactly at 37 minutes but I would take at least 4 minutes off because of trying to get through the first initial start crowd! I am so proud of myself and I managed to raise 200.00. So thank you to everyone that sponsored me!!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and be thankful for what God has given you. I know I am!
Love, Mel
